Hi guys,

Thank you so much for the kind words. I still can’t believe he’s gone. He really was the best dog a person could have. How long does it take to not be so sad? I’ve never lost a pet before so this is all new to me. Wish they could live to be as old as us. lol. Anyway, thanks again for the sweet comments in my journal and all the amazing emails. You guys are the best. Sorry if you see me moping around on my voyeur cams. Just gonna take some time I guess.

We’re supposed to go the U2 concert in Denver on Saturday night but might skip it. Not sure if it’s better to go and get our minds off things or just stay in and remember our little friend. Maybe we should go. I’ve heard so many great things about U2 and we bought these tickets over a year ago. Hmmmm, not sure what to do.

I hope you guys are having a great day. Lots of hugs!

~Kisses, Allie

you might be right, it could help to go to the concert to get your mind off Jack. plus a chance to see U2 live doesn't come around often and I'm sure he wouldn't want you to miss out. you take the time that you need and again sorry for your loss

I second that Allie. When i lost my 1st Dalmatian i was a mess but its the spirit of our pets that live forever. She was still roaming around my backyard and barking in my dreams. You'll be alright. U2 will take care of it so dont miss something like that.

Allie,
I'm so sorry for your loss, my wife and I don't have kids either and our dogs really are our kids!! I couldn't imagine losing one of them, our one dogs name is also Jack so it really hits home for me. I feel for you and Jake.

Hi AlLie,
I know it is very very hard but both of you should go to the concert, I went to the one they did in CT and it's definitely worth it and will change your mind, both of you need it, I know the pain, it's very hard but you must say and know that your dog lived the best life a dog can have.

Hug & Kisses

Take care

G'day Allie and Jake,

You've got the memories and I'm sure you have some videos of Jack too. I remember the video of Jack with the boots he had on in the garage. He was so funny walking in those boots. Sure it maybe painful to look at videos of Jack now, but in time you'll be able to watch them and recall all the fun times you had with him.
Go and see U2. It will give you a little bit of time to think about something else. This is a show not to be missed.

Love and BIG HUGS to you both.

So sorry to hear the sad news allie. Lost one of our dogs a couple of years back and couldn't believe how sad and painful it was. Time is a great healer though and I'm sure your dog enjoyed every day with you guys.

Go and see U2 - saw them 5 times on this tour and the show will blow your mind (just what you do to us ;-))

I'm so sorry for your loss. Having lost many pets through the years, I feel your pain. It's especially tough when you've been together for so long. Go to the concert. He would want it that way. Here's a poem I stumbled across after my dog Ritchie died. I had him for only 6 years, but then he was tragically hit by a drunk driver and I had to shoot him. (The dog, not the driver) Worst day of my life.
After They Are Gone

When someone we love passes away,
We ache, but we go on;
Our dear departed would want us to heal,
After they are gone.
Grief is a normal way to mend
The anguish and pain in our hearts;
We need time to remember and time to mourn,
Before the recovery starts.
Let's draw together to recuperate,
As we go through this period of sorrow;
Let's help each other, with tender care
To find a brighter tomorrow.

Just keep finding reasons to laugh. You'll be okay. I promise. I'm sure our dogs are playing together right now...and who knows maybe their doing their own webcam on the other side.

Hi Allie, this might help give you a little smile, i have no idea who made this or if you have ever seen it, i just found it once while googling your name. It's pretty funny even though the "Allie" looks more like Lady Gaga LOL! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuoZofZPwyg

Allie and Jake,

I am so sorry for your loss. You know how I feel about puppies, and I know how much you are grieving right now. Hang in there, and realize only time will heal this hurt.

By all means go to the concert. Do your best to keep living life as you would - Jack wants it that way, ya know? Hugs to both of you. And I second what Wazza said: the video of Jack in his snow boots will be a wonderful and happy memory for you in due time.

Sorry for your loss. Imp you should go to the concert. Years ago my grandmother died the same day I was supposed to go see the dead. I went to the show anyways and it was the only smiling I did for quite a while. Glad I went.
